In such cases you should use the Browse mode functionality available inside editor. In the browse mode of the editor you can browse your website normally, log in to your account, add elements to your cart etc. Once you are done with browsing, you can select Design mode inside editor and go back to editing your page. Below is a screenshot displaying the location of browse mode button inside the editor:
